The Pharmacy Technician program will provide students with 560 clock hours which will make them eligible for registration with the Florida Board of Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida. The pharmacy Technician Program is approximately 8 months in length. Students will gain hands on experience related to several aspects of the pharmaceutical industry. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to begin a pharmacy technician career in the area of their choice (ie retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, long-term care pharmacy, etc).
Pharmacy technicians help licensed pharmacists dispense prescription medication to customers or health professionals. Pharmacy “techs” typically work in retail pharmacies and hospitals.
